Terms & Conditions
Installation Work
1.1 All our work will comply with the relevant BS7671 wiring regulations at the time of installation.
1.2 All our work will comply with any relevant building regulations at the time of installation.
1.3 Any installation or work certification issued by Scott Electrical South will only cover the work we have carried out and will become void should any third parties alter or interfere with the work we have completed.
1.4 Where work is to extend or modify existing circuits, our quote will be under the assumption that existing wiring is in safe and adequate condition. Any work required to bring these up to standard would incur an additional cost which would be agreed with the client before hand.
Electrical Installation Condition Reports
2.1 We must have full access to the fuse board or consumer unit, any obstructions must be removed prior to our arrival
2.2 All sensitive equipment must be unplugged prior to our arrival
2.3 PrePayment meters must have enough credit for ourselves to conduct a test
2.4 We must be informed if for any reason power cannot be switched off to certain areas prior to arrival
Pricing
3.1 Our quotes are based on continuous and unhindered access to site. If for no fault of our own we are unable to access the site, a small charge may occur for our lost time.
3.2 Fixed price quotes will be issued where possible, if we cannot issue a quote, we will issue an estimate instead which may be subject to change.
3.3 Upon accepting our quote, you are also accepting our terms and conditions.
3.4 Additional works completed outside of those stated within the quote will be subject to additional costs for both materials and labour.
3.5 Quotes are only valid for 30 days only due to constantly increasing material costs.
Exclusions
4.1 Whilst we try to be as helpful as possible and will generally move items of furniture to create access, the moving of furniture and other large items blocking access to work areas are not included. If we are unable to proceed with a job due to access restrictions a small charge will be payable for our attendance.
4.2 We will try to ensure that electrical items are plugged back in before we leave the premises however, we will not be held responsible for any electrical items not being plugged back in and/or switched on.
4.3 Removal of waste such as rubble, old fixtures and packaging is not included subject to discussion with the client and additional cost agreed.
4.4 Any damage to plaster work such as wall chases will not be re-filled with plaster by ourselves unless otherwise agreed upon before hand with the client.
4.5 Any floor coverings we need to remove such as carpet or vinyl will be put back to the best of our ability only and may not go back to the level of quality it was before when fitted by a professional floor layer.
4.6 In the event of labour only work, where a client is supplying materials, all materials must be on site and available to us or a revisit at additional costs will be required.
Risk And Title Of Goods
5.1 The risk in all goods supplied shall pass to the client upon delivery
5.2 All goods supplied by ourselves remain the property of Scott Electrical South until payment has been made in full.
Warranty
6.1 Scott Electrical South will warrant all of our work for a period of 12 months from the date of invoice. Materials supplied by others, wilful misuse or instances where the installation has been altered by a third party will void the warranty. This also excludes fair wear and tear and consumable goods such as light bulbs, fuses etc.
6.2 If a project we carry out also involves working with other trades, any damage to the electrical installation by another trade remains the responsibility of the client. Any cost to rectify damaged electrical work is to be payable by the client, recovery of these costs from third parties remains the client’s responsibility.
Payments
7.1 Payments must be made to Scott Electrical South upon completion of any works, unless otherwise agreed beforehand.
7.2 Where projects may need multiple visits over an extended period of time, part payments may be required upon set intervals of completed work.
7.3 Payments to Scott Electrical South can be made in cash, online BACS transfer, credit or debit card. We do not accept cheques.
7.4: In the event of a non payment, Scott Electrical South reserve the right to instruct an independent debt recovery agency to collect payment which will also incur their additional costs.
